Authentication
Every piece sold by Desamp Atelier is guaranteed authentic. Without exception.
The Desamp authentication process
Authentication is not a step in our workflow — it is the foundation of it. A piece does not enter our inventory until it has passed every stage of the protocol below. If we cannot authenticate it, we do not list it. If we cannot list it, we return it to the consignor.
01 Initial inspection
The piece is received, unpacked, and visually inspected by our front-of-house team. Hardware is photographed, serial numbers recorded, and the condition documented in detail.
02 Specialist verification
The piece is then handled by one of our two senior authenticators, both of whom have spent decades inside the maison and the secondary market. They examine the leather, lining, hardware, stitching cadence, font weight on the serial card, and provenance documents.
03 Photographic record
Once verified, the piece is photographed across thirty individual angles. These photographs form the permanent record of the bag and accompany it to its next owner as part of its file.
The certificate
Every piece sold by Desamp ships with a numbered certificate of authentication, signed by the verifying specialist. The certificate is registered to your name and travels with the bag for the rest of its life.
Our guarantee
If, at any point, an authority of greater standing than our own determines a Desamp piece to be inauthentic, we will refund the full purchase price. This guarantee is for life and transfers with ownership.
